Moving Day

Moving day, er, week, here at Livewire.

New offices located at 2606 NW 6th Street are being filled in with all of our useful junk. Very exciting to be in a premium location with large signage and great new neighbors. Livewire has teamed up with Gnosys Networks to offer a wider range of services for both of our companies. Our swanky new office is definitely a work in progress be it is fun and we have some big things planned for the property.

New location means new projects and we’ve had a lot recently. Several new websites in the works for great Gainesville area businesses. A few startups, a few oldies but goodies – old friends have come back to us and we’ve made some new ones so far this year. 2015 is shaping up to be a great year for us and for those doing business with us.

Come by and see us anytime.

JSON and PHP

Here at Livewire, Gainesville Web Design headquarters, we have had a couple of projects recently that allowed us to work with JSON and PHP. Initially it may seem a bit strange for PHP experts to want to embed javascript functionality in their code base but the two work

Here’s what’s been going on at Livewire in the last few weeks – because, well, why not? It’s a blog ,isn’t it? Finishing up the LDM iphone app – which has been a big project that has presented us with some unique challenges. The Android version is likely

Better Than Notepad: Notepad ++

We love this little program. It’s a replacement for Notepad called Notepad++. It’s like notepad on steroids. Lots of  new, useful functions – essentially, everything Microsoft neglected to put into their product,; open source, once again, has provided a better alternative. Easy find/replace functions, even in files so

Using Google URL Shortener

It really could not be easier. Google’s URL shortener is certainly the best one out there. https://goo.gl/ Our latest rollout, InfoGopher, uses this extensively. Our unique texting app needs short URLs in order to remain inside text character limits. Anyway, we love it. Google as usual gives you

Moving Your Website To A New Host

Sometimes it’s easy, most of the time it is not. What a headache! If you’ve moved hosts and domains several times you’re probably an old hand at it; if not, you’re in trouble. You’ll probably need the assistance of someone that has some experience in this area. Choosing
