Early Learning Coalition Has A New Website

The ELC of alachua county came to us looking for some help with their current website. They had evidently been hacked on their Joomla installation and there were a number of issues that rippled out from that. We attempted to fix the installation but the site was outdated and needed a refresh anyway. We mentioned that, since they are a 501c3 organization, we could offer them a full 40% discount on their web services. Suffice it to say, they jumped on the deal and from it, we produced a great new site, fully responsive, fully livewire.

They do some really great work for the Gainesville community over at ELC of Alachua. We are proud to be a part of their organization and donate a portion of our time and resources to their continued impact on the city of Gainesville and the surrounding areas.

The design is pure HTML5 and CSS3 based in a WordPress engine. That gives us the scalability for the website to grow as the organization grows. As with all of our Gainesville websites, our base price includes all the training and support to get them comfortable using and managing their new website. Additionally we provide a full year of maintenance and support for most new clients. This means that they won’t pay for any website upgrades or fixes during that period.

ELC of Alachua County came to Livewire looking for a quick fix and walked out with a professional site done for the right price.

Don’t Get Smacked by Copyright Infringemnt

Developers do it all the time – they need an image for a website and head on over to Google images, put a keyword in and voila! Free pictures for everyone! Not so fast. Many of these images are protected under copyright law and if you get caught,

Preloading Images with Jquery

There are times when preloading images is an important step in keeping your site/page/program running smoothly. This is especially true in the era of mobile. Here’s a cute little snippet that does just that. function preload(yourarrayOfImages) { $(yourarrayOfImages).each(function(){ $(‘<img/>’)[0].src = this; }); } preload([ ‘img/image1.jpg’, ‘img/image2.jpg’, ‘img/image3.jpg’ ]);
